thmske DRAFTING FOR THETexans
Draft Grade — Texans
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Texans. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Texans walked out of the weekend still thin at running back, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will need Fairchild to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In the 25th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58
Rnd2
Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum at slot 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick79
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
Omarr Norman-Lott in the 79th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick89
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
They went early on Dylan Fairchild in Round 3, Pick 25, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
