thmske DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Giants, and a B- to prove it. The Giants treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending No. 65 on Will Howard a full 36 spots early. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
In the 3rd pick they get a bendy edge with upside. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Nothing to complain about; Emeka Egbuka went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick65
Rnd3
Will Howard
A real head-scratcher, Will Howard in Round 3, Pick 1 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick99
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
They paid up for Zy Alexander at the 99th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
