FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Felton from sliding. Grade: B-. Somebody in slot 137 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while Tai Felton, the No. 98 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
If Frazier pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 31 they get a downhill hitter at safety, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell slid further than he should have, and No. 50 is lovely value for the linebacker. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick52
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Higgins at the 52nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at slot 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jalen Milroe
A premium they did not need to pay, Jalen Milroe a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92
Rnd3
Miles Frazier
A wild overpay on Miles Frazier in the 92nd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick137
Rnd4
Tai Felton
Tai Felton in Round 4, Pick 35 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
A safety of that caliber at pick 172 is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick175
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
Phil Mafah
They took Phil Mafah at par in the 223rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick234
Rnd7
Bilhal Kone
A tidy little value on Bilhal Kone in the 234th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
