Johnson should have been long gone. The Chiefs pounced, and earned a D.

Somebody in the Round 5 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Chris Johnson, the No. 48 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
