Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The 49ers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 252nd overall pick on Storm Duck a full 33 spots early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Paul steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Kamari Lassiter
In the 31st pick they get an island corner. More want than need.
Pick63 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul slid further than he should have, and pick No. 63 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick94 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A conviction pick on Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 31 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick98 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
A tidy little value on Tykee Smith in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick131 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the 131st overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick177 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell at pick 177 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick209 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in Jawhar Jordan. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick213 Rnd6 Isaiah Neyor
Fair-plus on Isaiah Neyor, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick215 Rnd6 Brevyn Spann-Ford
Brevyn Spann-Ford in slot 215 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick252 Rnd7 Storm Duck
Storm Duck at pick 252 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
