Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall A
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Chargers worked the phones like thieves and earned a A.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Chargers were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A to show for it.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Wiggins steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Adding Mark Andrews by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Bottom line, with Nate Wiggins leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In the 32nd overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
A slide stopped in slot 37, with Amarius Mims worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
They read the board right and Jackson Powers-Johnson was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 32. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick69 Rnd3 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders slipping to pick 69 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mike Sainristil at pick No. 95. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick105 Rnd4 Jacob Cowing
Jacob Cowing in the 105th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick142 Rnd5 Tommy Eichenberg
A tidy bit of business in No. 142, where Tommy Eichenberg graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick183 Rnd6 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the Round 6 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick226 Rnd7 Isaiah Neyor
Isaiah Neyor at the 226th pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
