Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Lions were there to profit. Blake Fisher, the No. 100 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 5, Pick 31.

The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
