Quarterback settled, McCarthy in the fold, and a B for the Patriots.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They are betting Sinnott proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
