Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
The Packers kept it disciplined and banked a B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Packers took Khristian Boyd at the 104th overall pick, roughly 73 spots before his name belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
On value alone, Chambers makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
The board had cheaper options than Edgerrin Cooper at pick 35, and it noticed. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick58
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Taking Tyler Nubin in the 58th pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick61
Rnd2
Jaylen Wright
They paid a round early for Jaylen Wright in No. 61, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick66
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
You do not let an offensive lineman like Cooper Beebe reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick74
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
A tidy bit of business in the 74th overall pick, where Kiran Amegadjie graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cam Hart
A premium they did not need to pay, Cam Hart a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick91
Rnd3
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at Round 3, Pick 28 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick94
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice in slot 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104
Rnd4
Khristian Boyd
A real head-scratcher, Khristian Boyd in the Round 4 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick219
Rnd6
Caedan Wallace
Nothing to complain about; Caedan Wallace went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick245
Rnd7
Steele Chambers
Steal is underselling it; Steele Chambers at the 245th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jack Westover
Jack Westover in pick No. 255 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
