Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB- TradesA FutureA
The Commanders let Scott fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Justin Scott slide, and the Commanders were the ones holding the card at pick No. 62. Highway robbery. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If Harbor pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.

Adding Dalton Kincaid by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Bottom line, with KJ Bolden leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 KJ Bolden
In pick 26 they get an enforcer at safety, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick62 Rnd2 Justin Scott
They will replay Justin Scott at pick No. 62 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick71 Rnd3 Nyck Harbor
A reach for Nyck Harbor in the Round 3 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick97 Rnd3 Luke Montgomery
You do not let an offensive lineman like Luke Montgomery reach slot 97 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick106 Rnd4 Ashton Hampton
Ashton Hampton in Round 4, Pick 6 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128 Rnd4 Justin Evans
They did well to land Justin Evans in the 128th pick, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick185 Rnd6 Niki Prongos
Niki Prongos at the 185th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223 Rnd7 Edrees Farooq
Edrees Farooq in No. 223 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
