Draft Grade — Eagles

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Eagles and Skattebo: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Cam Skattebo at the 161st pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Webb has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at pick 64 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick96 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
Circle this one: Mason Taylor at slot 96 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick134 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick161 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
A running back of that caliber at No. 161 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick164 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill at pick No. 164 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick165 Rnd5 Nick Nash
Somehow Nick Nash was still sitting there in the 165th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick168 Rnd5 Clay Webb
A reach for Clay Webb in the 168th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
