Draft Grade — Eagles

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Eagles.

Nobody had Elijah Roberts this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 47 spots to get him at pick 134. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Starks value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Taking Malaki Starks in pick No. 64 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick96 Rnd3 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer at No. 96 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Elijah Roberts
They reached into another round for Elijah Roberts, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
No edge and no loss on Tommi Hill in pick 161; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick164 Rnd5 Clay Webb
Clay Webb in the 164th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick165 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bhayshul Tuten at slot 165 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
A reach for Jack Kiser in the 168th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
