Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Patriots spent the 106th pick on Nick Nash, a name most had 145 spots down the list. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The Walker pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Patriots indulged a want in Lee III while a need in interior defensive lineman and safety stayed open.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
