Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Tahj Washington in pick 122. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
