Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall D+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA-
A passer of the future in Nix, and a D+, for the Broncos.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Broncos did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

Whatever Bo Nix becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Broncos had louder needs to answer first.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Hart to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In the 28th overall pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
A tidy bit of business in No. 59, where Kris Jenkins graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick76 Rnd3 Devontez Walker
Value with a capital V on Devontez Walker in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. The roster fit checks out.
Pick99 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in Round 3, Pick 36 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick115 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Somehow Cam Hart was still sitting there in the 115th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick117 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE and leaves running back untouched.
Pick122 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster at pick No. 122 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick144 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott slid further than he should have, and slot 144 is lovely value for the tight end. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick146 Rnd5 Mohamed Kamara
A slide stopped in slot 146, with Mohamed Kamara worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick178 Rnd6 Sione Vaki
The board had Sione Vaki higher than No. 178, and the safety fell to them anyway. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick237 Rnd7 Andrew Raym
Andrew Raym in pick No. 237 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
They paid sticker price for Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 246th overall pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
