Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. The rest of the league had time to spare on Daevin Hobbs; the Seahawks did not wait, grabbing him 37 spots ahead at Round 5, Pick 12. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Key. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In the 11th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. at slot 43 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick75
Rnd3
Mansoor Delane
No drama and no debate, Mansoor Delane went about where he belonged in pick No. 75. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick111
Rnd4
Logan Jones
Logan Jones in No. 111 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick150
Rnd5
Daevin Hobbs
They reached a country mile for Daevin Hobbs at the Round 5 slot, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick180
Rnd6
Marquis Johnson
Marquis Johnson at pick 180 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189
Rnd6
Dane Key
Dane Key in No. 189 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
