Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB+
NeedA
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Chiefs. Every other box got a look, but offensive lineman did not. The Chiefs will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. The bottom line is a respectable B.
However the rest shakes out, Golden at that price is a win they earned. The Arroyo pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden at slot 31 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick63
Rnd2
Elijah Arroyo
The board had cheaper options than Elijah Arroyo at the 63rd pick, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
