Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Sellers, and a B, for the Cardinals.

Start where it matters. The Cardinals took LaNorris Sellers to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The Barton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Mathews Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 LaNorris Sellers
In the 17th overall pick they get their quarterback of the future. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 Tim Keenan III
They paid a round early for Tim Keenan III in the Round 2 slot, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick81 Rnd3 DeAndre Moore Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, DeAndre Moore Jr. at the 81st pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117 Rnd4 Lander Barton
Lander Barton at pick 117 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick156 Rnd5 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
Value with a capital V on Jermaine Mathews Jr. in pick No. 156, a genuine coup. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick195 Rnd6 J.C. Davis
They reached a country mile for J.C. Davis at slot 195, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
