Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Bengals. Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Bengals to leave a draft. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
The Royals reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at pick No. 17 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jalen Royals
They liked Jalen Royals enough to skip the value, taking him in the 49th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
