The 49ers clearly saw something nobody else did in Jordan Travis, taking him 44 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

So much rides on Michael Penix Jr. that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

The Bullock pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

The Barron value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
