Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesC- FutureB+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bears and Emmanwori: B.

Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Bears to leave a draft. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

On value alone, Emmanwori makes the weekend a net positive. Every board in the league had Alexander lower, and that gap is the story. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In pick No. 10 they get a lead back with juice. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in the 39th pick, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick72 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in No. 72 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick86 Rnd3 Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick125 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Fair-plus on Emery Jones Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick148 Rnd5 Riley Leonard
A quarterback of that caliber at the 148th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick199 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
By-the-book stuff, Jay Higgins at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick233 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
A straight-up fair deal on Isaac TeSlaa at slot 233, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick240 Rnd7 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in Round 7, Pick 24 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
