The Giants let Slaughter fall into their laps, and walked away with a C.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jake Slaughter, the No. 23 name on the board, stolen at the 64th pick. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Kearney pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
