The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Broncos reached some 202 spots for Jordan James, and value like that does not grow back. The final tally is a middling C+.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

So much rides on Jordan Burch that the real verdict is a season or two away.
