FutureB-
The Vikings won the night they stopped Nolen from sliding. Grade: B+. The board owed the Vikings one, and it paid up: Walter Nolen, the No. 20 name on the board, sitting there at the 63rd pick like a gift left on the doorstep.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63
Rnd2
Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at Round 2, Pick 31 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick97
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Value with a capital V on Andrew Mukuba in pick No. 97, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick139
Rnd5
Devin Neal
Somehow Devin Neal was still sitting there in the 139th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jake Briningstool
Jake Briningstool slid further than he should have, and pick 187 is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257
Rnd7
Cody Lindenberg
Cody Lindenberg in slot 257 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
