RF4916 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Ravens a B-. The Xavier Thomas selection is the head-turner. The Ravens reached 33 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Hart steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at Round 1, Pick 30 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick62
Rnd2
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley in the 62nd pick is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick93
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at slot 93 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113
Rnd4
Cam Hart
They read the board right and Cam Hart was the payoff at pick No. 113. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130
Rnd4
Xavier Thomas
They talked themselves into Xavier Thomas at the 130th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick165
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
Nothing to complain about; Tykee Smith went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
