Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Ravens, and a B- to prove it.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Ravens would have aced it. Khalid Duke at pick 250 is 41 spots clear of where he belonged.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jackson. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In the 30th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
The board had cheaper options than Ja'Lynn Polk at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick93 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in slot 93. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick113 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Taking Khyree Jackson in pick No. 113 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick130 Rnd4 Brennan Jackson
Brennan Jackson at No. 130 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau at pick 165 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick218 Rnd6 Dominique Hampton
They went early on Dominique Hampton in slot 218, and the value did not follow. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick228 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in pick No. 228 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick250 Rnd7 Khalid Duke
Value said wait; Khalid Duke in Round 7, Pick 30 says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
