Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureA+
More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B to prove it.

The 49ers did not so much draft Josh Proctor as overpay for him, 56 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B.

On value alone, Mitchell makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick59 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
The board had Cooper Beebe higher than No. 59, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Rod Moore
A slide stopped in pick No. 90, with Rod Moore worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick98 Rnd3 Adonai Mitchell
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Adonai Mitchell in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick127 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson at the 127th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick177 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden at slot 177 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick199 Rnd6 Nelson Ceaser
They took Nelson Ceaser at par in the 199th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick205 Rnd6 Jestin Jacobs
Nothing to complain about; Jestin Jacobs went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick207 Rnd6 Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson in pick No. 207 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick213 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Value with a capital V on Curtis Jacobs in slot 213, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
They liked Joshua Gray enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248 Rnd7 Josh Proctor
A big swing on Josh Proctor at the 248th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
