The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jaylin Simpson, the No. 147 name on the board, in the 172nd pick. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. With quarterback, tight end and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. The Benson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
