Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Ravens.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Ravens did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to interior defensive lineman, which was the need that mattered most. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They will need Beebe to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Cooper Beebe
In the 30th pick they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 62 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick93 Rnd3 Cam Hart
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
They liked Johnny Wilson enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 113. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mohamed Kamara. The roster fit checks out.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
They paid sticker price for Kamal Hadden in Round 5, Pick 29, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
They paid a round early for Frank Gore Jr. in No. 218, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick228 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
A reach for Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 228th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick250 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
Trey Taylor at pick 250 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
