The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: D+. Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. With running back and linebacker unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Robinson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
