The Bears robbed the room for Carter. Final grade: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Barrett Carter, the No. 80 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 149. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Adding Orlando Brown Jr. by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
