The Bengals treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 5, Pick 12 on Will Lee III a full 90 spots early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Powell-Ryland pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at linebacker and quarterback. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
