You build a draft on nights like this. Laiatu Latu had no business being available in the Round 2 slot, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. The veteran additions, Tyree Wilson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, with Jer'Zhan Newton leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
