You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting Muhammad III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. On value alone, Hancock makes the weekend a net positive.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with running back still staring back at them.
