Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Packers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They banked enough surplus on DeJean to cover a lot of smaller sins. Reaching for Pearl left real value on the table behind him.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick39 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
No edge and no loss on Troy Fautanu in Round 2, Pick 7; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick43 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the 43rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
A quiet steal in slot 75: Cooper DeJean for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the 82nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick111 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
A tidy bit of business in No. 111, where Devontez Walker graded well above the range. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick135 Rnd4 Shemar Turner
Shemar Turner in pick 135 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick189 Rnd6 Moose Muhammad III
Moose Muhammad III in pick No. 189 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick217 Rnd6 Darius Muasau
Darius Muasau in slot 217 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick219 Rnd6 Duce Chestnut
Nice patience on Duce Chestnut, who had no business lasting to Round 6, Pick 44. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick232 Rnd7 Julian Pearl
They jumped the gun on Julian Pearl, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
