Larceny in pick 244 lands the Bengals a B, Brooks and all.

Somebody in the 244th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bengals sat still while Tahj Brooks, the No. 202 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
