Best value of the weekend goes to the Cardinals for Mbow: B-. Thirty-one other rooms let Marcus Mbow slide, and the Cardinals were the ones holding the card at Round 3, Pick 8. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Walker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In No. 16 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders in pick No. 47 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick72
Rnd3
Marcus Mbow
Marcus Mbow in the 72nd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
