Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jaguars: B-. For all the boxes ticked, the Jaguars skipped the loudest one: wide receiver is exactly as bare as it was. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Smith-Wade falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Reaching for Lovett left real value on the table behind him. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Bralen Trice
In the 23rd pick they get juice off the edge. More want than need.
Pick55
Rnd2
Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke in No. 55 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91
Rnd3
Nazir Stackhouse
They took Nazir Stackhouse at par in the 91st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick96
Rnd3
Audric Estime
A conviction pick on Audric Estime at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick113
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 13 with a little surplus value in Tommy Eichenberg. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick123
Rnd4
Tykee Smith
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at pick No. 123 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick127
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at pick 127, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160
Rnd5
Fabien Lovett
Fabien Lovett at slot 160 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick201
Rnd6
Jasheen Davis
Jasheen Davis at slot 201 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick211
Rnd6
Duce Chestnut
A reasonable price with a little left over, Duce Chestnut in pick No. 211. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick244
Rnd7
Chau Smith-Wade
Chau Smith-Wade slipping to No. 244 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248
Rnd7
Kamal Hadden
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamal Hadden in Round 7, Pick 28. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
