The war room fell hard for Hayden Hatten, and it showed at the Round 7 slot: 66 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The warnings were there, and the F is the bill.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Everything downstream of Michael Penix Jr. depends on Michael Penix Jr., and the building knows it.

Spending an early pick on DT-EDGE with running back and linebacker open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
