Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Broncos won the night they stopped Bassa from sliding. Grade: B+.

Somebody in pick 195 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Broncos sat still while Jeffrey Bassa, the No. 122 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will need Hamilton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Broncos clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a two-high chess piece, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick51 Rnd2 Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. is a better player than slot 51 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick85 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
They paid up for Tez Johnson at pick No. 85 when waiting would have done the job. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick89 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Quinshon Judkins in the 89th overall pick, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jermari Harris
Taking Jermari Harris in the 120th pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick138 Rnd5 Howard Cross III
Howard Cross III at pick 138 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189 Rnd6 Ty Hamilton
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ty Hamilton this early at No. 189. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
Jeffrey Bassa in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick205 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
Ja'Corey Brooks in the 205th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
