Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B-.

The Jalen Travis pick is the one that will follow the Commanders into the fall. They took him 42 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

On value alone, Felton makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
Donovan Ezeiruaku at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick61 Rnd2 TreVeyon Henderson
They did well to land TreVeyon Henderson in No. 61, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick121 Rnd4 Tai Felton
Steal is underselling it; Tai Felton at pick No. 121 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick128 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at slot 128 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick132 Rnd4 Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland at pick 132 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick157 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A tidy little value on Bhayshul Tuten in the 157th pick, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick170 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in the 170th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at No. 205 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at Round 7, Pick 29 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
