The Texans checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent Round 4, Pick 23 on Jordan Jefferson, a name the board had a full 60 spots lower. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Spending an early pick on cornerback with quarterback and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Getting Liufau where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
