The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Tyler Batty went at pick No. 209, a good 105 picks before the board was ready. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Getting Lawson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
