HR DRAFTING FOR THECowboys

Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Stutsman: B. The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Danny Stutsman, the No. 86 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They are betting Downs proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a ballhawk on the outside, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44
Rnd2
Tetairoa McMillan
Somehow Tetairoa McMillan was still sitting there in the Round 2 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick76
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at pick 76 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick149
Rnd5
Danny Stutsman
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach the 149th overall pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick171
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin at the 171st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick174
Rnd5
Ajani Cornelius
No edge and no loss on Ajani Cornelius in pick No. 174; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick204
Rnd6
Alijah Huzzie
A reach for Alijah Huzzie in No. 204; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick211
Rnd6
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at slot 211 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick239
Rnd7
Cam Horsley
Cam Horsley at the 239th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick247
Rnd7
Ethan Downs
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ethan Downs well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
