The Cowboys let Ferguson fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Terrance Ferguson at pick 247 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The cost of the Sorrell reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. The dealing was even money, start to finish.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Carson Schwesinger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

Taking Azareye'h Thomas in No. 117 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

You do not let a quarterback like Kyle McCord reach pick No. 149 and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
