The rest of the league had time to spare on Barryn Sorrell; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 111 spots ahead at pick No. 204.

Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
