A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cowboys: B.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent No. 247 on Jasheen Davis, a name the board had a full 97 spots lower. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

However the rest shakes out, Gabriel at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In the 12th pick they get a featured back, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick44 Rnd2 Tre Harris
They paid sticker price for Tre Harris in Round 2, Pick 12, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick76 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick149 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
No drama and no debate, Tommi Hill went about where he belonged in No. 149. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Somehow Logan Brown was still sitting there in the 170th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Dorian Strong in pick 171 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

Dillon Gabriel in Round 5, Pick 36 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Joshua Gray in the 188th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
