Larceny in the 150th pick lands the Cowboys a B, Noel and all. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Jaylin Noel slide 54 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Reaching for Gadsden II left real value on the table behind him. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In No. 12 they get a wrecking ball inside, and a steal at that.
Pick46
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
They robbed the room for Tyler Warren here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick76
Rnd3
Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson is a better player than the 76th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick117
Rnd4
Carson Schwesinger
You do not let a linebacker like Carson Schwesinger reach the 117th overall pick and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick150
Rnd5
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at pick No. 150 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170
Rnd5
Dillon Gabriel
They will replay Dillon Gabriel at pick 170 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick172
Rnd5
Oronde Gadsden II
A conviction pick on Oronde Gadsden II at slot 172 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick174
Rnd5
RJ Harvey
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 35, with RJ Harvey worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick190
Rnd6
Dorian Strong
Somehow Dorian Strong was still sitting there in the 190th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick211
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius in the 211th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick244
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick249
Rnd7
Brandon Adams
By-the-book stuff, Brandon Adams at pick 249 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
