The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 114 spots for Barryn Sorrell, and value like that does not grow back.

Stutsman at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
