The rest of the league had time to spare on Barryn Sorrell; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 146 spots ahead at No. 150. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They banked enough surplus on Ransom to cover a lot of smaller sins. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
